Therapy for Highly Sensitive People
Do you sometimes feel like you need a shield between yourself and the world? One moment you are deeply engaged with life, having profound experiences with music, art, and nature, and the next everything is too loud and abrasive, people are draining all of your energy, you feel responsible for everyone’s emotions before they can even voice them, and someone is telling you to “stop being so sensitive”. At times you feel like your brain is at odds with itself, wanting to seek out beautiful new experiences and deep personal connections but also needing abundant recovery time and, when it has all become too much, wanting to retreat into your own safe and quite world.
One in five people are considered highly sensitive (HSP). Through my specialized work with ADHDers, who have a much higher likelihood of also being highly sensitive, I have become passionate about connecting with other highly sensitive souls. I have completed additional training to be listed on the HSP directory and best serve clients such as yourself. I help the people I work with embrace the whole package of who they are. Your sensitivity is a gift to the world, Let's work together to make sure it is also a gift to yourself.
I provide online therapy in Alabama, Missouri, and Colorado. One aspect of being highly sensitive is often wanting ample time to think through big decisions, such as selecting a therapist. This is a wonderful trait that only limits us when we get so overwhelmed by a choice that we become stuck. You can click, 'schedule a consult' below to set up a non sales-y opportunity to talk and see if I might be a good fit. At the end of our call, I only move forward if you feel ready. Otherwise, I encourage my clients to take time to think about if they want to work together.
